Importance of communication

“Sumer” meaning “the land of civilized kings” which fell under the mighty Persian empire, under the united of Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) was where the first spoken tongue came out of named “Sumerian”, this was roughly in the 3^rd millennium BC, but the idea of how vital it is to channel what you are thinking in your head to the other person came much earlier  than that, the roots of it date back to pre-history, man thought of it before he made fire, Imagine Adams frustration when he first saw Eve and he wasn’t able to tell her what he was thinking.

One must accept how far things have gotten, recent developments on social media have shown us new dimensions of what words can do, at a time when they matter the most, at a time when cynicism over rules optimism. Could we call it a modern day miracle? Who would have thought that it would be at twitter that a trend like #whatsthelink would be a global sensation coming out of Pakistan with millions of people guessing the links? Is this God’s intervention which we all were waiting for, to tell us the extent a human mind could reach when he develops the will to achieve what he wants, in our case it was freedom of speech that we wanted, no boundaries exist now, no race exists, we are all one, the crying mother in Gaza could make herself heard, the anti-social Romeo can finally tell her how much he loves her, the secretly enthusiast housewife could finally display her lawn designs online, the commercial spit upon musician could upload his way of expression.

Imagine a world without communication? Imagine a world without expression? Imagine a world without Shakespeare, Imagine a world without Faiz Ahmed Faiz, without the ‘I love yous’ and ‘I hate yous’, a world without the Jimi Hendrix. I have always believe that we are the most unthankful race in the all of animal kingdom ,we have today the most priceless gift with us and what we do with it is, Complain, all the time. Let’s choose to use our words more wisely, lets choose to communicate love and peace stead of hatred and anger, our lives have limited durations but our words could heard forever.

BALOCH STUDENT WINS IT FOR PAKISTAN

Baluchistan, a province more known for violence than its natural beauty. Baluchistan, more in headlines for gas pipe line blasts than any other thing. But 15 years old 9^th standard Waleed gets his province highlighted, positive for a change!

Khuzdar boy Waleed Basher’s GREEN AUTOMATION project is declared the best among hundred others from 20 different countries, at the International Infomatrix Asia Computer Competition, held between April 18 and 21 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. His hard work gets him, not only international fame, but a gold medal as well.

Coming to the prize winning project, Waleed has designed an automation system that illustrates how to control a greenhouse with only a computer and an internet connection. With heat, water level, humidity and other factors controlled through strategically installed sensors, there is virtually no need for human attendants. That’s not all; the energy required for the functioning of the system is provided by movable solar panels that follow the position of the sun for the best possible energy recovery. To make it simpler, Waleed has devised a project with which crop production can be increased. Students like Waleed need to work more on projects like Green Automation, in a country whose economy still relies on agriculture.

When asked, Waleed said “I am feeling very proud, very honored. It was my dream to honor my school, and my country.” Happy and honored He must be, as he beat nations like Russia, India, Bangladesh, Georgia, Bosnia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Kenya, and judges had to choose between hundreds of projects. They chose Basher’s ‘Green Automation’ project.

Waleed shifted to Quetta from his hometown to earn education. He is a student of Pak-Turk school. Waleed parents and teachers are equally jubilant on his success. His father said “We knew his hard work will pay off”. His Turk teacher and his mentor for the project Haleel Baris says “I am really proud of my student”.

And proud should all the Pakistan be! As the precious stones filled province produces a gem. Baluchistan is not only a province with heaps of natural resources, but a land of fertile minds, who if nurtured and polished, are none less than any talent in any part of the country.

 Waleed has proved to be a positive prospect for the country, and he surely is a “p+”



PAKISTAN IS WITH ROHINGYAS

As the whole world turns blind to the massacre of rohingya, turns deaf to their cries and puts MADE IN USA locks on their lips, there are few, who dare to speak against this OIL SPONSORED TYRANNY.

With no finance, no sponsors, and no resources, the youth of Karachi (Pakistan) came out at press club to show their solidarity with their brothers and sisters facing death at every nook and corner in the Rakhine state. These young boys and girls belonged from the Youth Parliament of Pakistan run by the TV anchor Rizwan Jaffer. They carried banners and placards they made themselves. 

They chanted, shouted out loud, against the tyrant rule, against the cold blooded killings, yes the shouts may not reach the concerned authorities, but they did not care about that. They felt it was their moral obligation, to do what they think was in their optimum capacity. WE ARE WITH YOU they chanted ... AGAINST THIS MASSACRE they wrote .....

One of the boys told me that no GOVERNMENT aid came to them, in fact, they did not need any. But they were thankful to minister Haleem Adil Sheikh who joined them in the peaceful protest, and arranged few logistics for them and also promised to raise their voice in the provincial assembly.

I was very much moved by this protest of the young people under the umbrella of Youth Parliament. This shows that the youth has not turned deaf and dumb. They are awake, and awake they will be till the problem persists. They are with their Rohingya brothers and sisters, and if in future, Government of Pakistan take up this issue, they are ready to offer their efforts voluntarily.

ROHINGYAS, TILL THIS YOUTH IS AWAKE, YOU ARE NOT ALONE .... WE ARE WITH YOU ... PAKISTAN IS WITH YOU!

THE ONLY NUCLEAR MSLIM STATE . IN A STATE OF SILENCE FOR ROHENGYAS

Only after twitter friend Jamila Hanan told me the “real” cause of Rohingeya cleansing, I was not into this matter deeply. May be loads and loads of target killings and extremism here in my country Pakistan have kept me too busy to look into the matters of other countries, but since I am a Muslim, and we were told by the clerics that Muslims are one irrespective of borders . I still remember one of the sermon I heard in Friday prayer, where the Imam compared the Muslim community with a human body, bruise on any part of the body makes whole body wrestles, similarly Muslims in trouble in any other part of world makes the whole community wrestles.

 But in the case of Rohengyas, it seems the entire Muslim community has turned deaf and dumb. Nothing in United Nations, no action from OIC as well. So why cry over the reaction of other countries, if Muslims themselves are reluctant to raise their voice!

I would like to highlight the role of the only Muslim nuclear state Pakistan in this issue. And now I am short of words, I do not know what to highlight. Conventional condemnation on state level, and silly rallies and protests by civil society, seminars and conferences arranged by the excited youth, add the TTP’s (threek e Taliban Pakistan) revenge threat also, which they wish to take from Burmese government by attacking government assets here in Pakistan if it does not cut ties with Burma. Now that’s some revenge…

The reason why I gave the example of Muslim community in the beginning of this blog is the protests and rallies which took place in a large number in Pakistan, but soon faded away, infact withered away in a few days, and the Muslim unity fell like a pack of cards.

The religious political parties like Jamat e Islami, Sunni tehreek and the emerging political force of Pakistan Thereek e Insaf did protests and walks and whatever could have been done, but I do not why all this ended up too soon. Infact I wonder, what made them go out and raise their voice for the rohengyas issue, as this issue is not a new one but exists since ages in Burma.

Is the issue over? Have the rohengyas given the right to live? Are rohengyas spared by the Burmese extremist groups? Have the Burmese government realized that human life is more important than oil?

May be all the answers to the above questions are not in affirmative. But We should not stop raising our voice against this brutal carnage. We must keep speaking against this ethnic cleansing, on all forums. And yes, We must not just rely on political parties, as the only they are best at is…. Politics!



The image above reflects the concern of the youth of Pakistan for their rohengya brothers and sisters. The youth parliament in August held this show and is still doing it bit for highlighting the issue, more than the NGOs and political and religious parties.

I am not in a mood to upload the pictures of massacre. I feel it is not necessary to paint my blog with blood and stain, but appeal to my countrymen, not to stop and keep on raising their voice. I appeal specially to the youth of this country. Because I believe that youth is “the” impetus, and can break shackles among the top order.
